Mary Anne Ellis Augurson was born February 15, 1879 in Haddeth, Lebanon, Syria. She also emigrated in 1895 and settled in Burlington, vermont. Dopminick and mary Anne had three children:
Dominic Corey and Mary Ann Ellis were married January 30, 1899, in Colchester, Vermont. They lived on West Allen Street in Winooski, then 82 Battery Street in Burlington, then 183 South Champlain in Burlington. They had three sons: Eseph D. in 1899, Peter D. in 1900, and Albert D. in 1903. Dominick, who was missing his right arm, worked in a cotton mill, then in his own business as a peddler of small notions in Burlington.
Mary Augurson Corey died July 18, 1944, at Bishop DeGoesbriand Hospital in Burlington. Cause of death: coronary heart disease. She was born February 15, 1879 in Lebanon. Her father was Elias Augurson, Her mother was Sarah Augurson. Dominic Corey died on November 17, 1951, at 183 South Champlain Street, Burlington. Cause of death: hypertension. See Find A Grave.

Dominic and Mary Augurson Corey were born in Hadath el Jebbeh. It was originally settled in 400 AD. It is 5,000 feet above sea level, overlooking the Kadisha valley. The inhabitants of the village are mostly Maronites. St. Daniel church which was built around 1110 AD. Hadath celebrates St. Daniel Festival, which takes place every second Sunday of September. It is 60 miles from Beirut, including 40 miles along the Mediterranean Sea. Sidon is another 27 miles south along the Mediterranean. |
